2. Busy Professionals: Individuals with demanding schedules or frequent travel commitments may find it more convenient to use laundromats for their laundry needs rather than investing time in washing and drying clothes at home.

3. Individuals without Washer/Dryer: Due to space constraint at home or people who cannot afford to purchase or maintain their own laundry appliances may rely on laundromats as a cost-effective solution for washing and drying their clothes.

4. Eco-Conscious Consumers: Some individuals choose to use laundromats because they offer energy-efficient appliances and water-saving features, aligning with their commitment to environmental sustainability.

5. Travelers and Tourists: Visitors staying in hotels, hostels, or short-term rentals may use laundromats to wash their clothes during their travels, especially if their accommodation lacks laundry facilities.

6. Students: Students, especially those with hectic schedules due to classes, part-time jobs, or extracurricular activities, may appreciate the flexibility of using laundromats. They can choose the timing that best fits their schedule, even if it is late night or early in the morning.

7. Shift Work Personnels: Shift work personnels often have irregular or non-traditional work hours, which can make it challenging to find time to do laundry during typical business hours. 24/7 laundromats provide convenience for them to do their laundry at times that fit their schedules, whether it is late at night, early in the morning, or during their days off.

Useful Tips In Washing And Drying

When To Use Cold Vs Hot Water Wash?

The majority of fabrics are suitable to wash in cold water, with delicates along with dark or colourful fabrics.

Washing in hot water is generally recommended for items that are heavily soiled, as the warm water breaks down dirt and grime, and helps stop the spread of germs and bacteria. Hot water wash is ideal for whites as it is more likely to restore their brightness and remove mild stains. Common stains that we should wash with hot water include:
  • Dirt
  • Sauce
  • Grease
  • Sweat
Additionally, for tough stains, it is often recommended to pre-treat them before washing regardless of the water temperature. Take a minute to read the care label on the garments and sort the dirty garments by colour, fabric and washing temperature for better results. As hot water may fade and shrink certain fabrics.

In Stevie Wash, we have different washing programs and capacities of washer to cater for individual needs.

Washer Load:

Beware not to overload the washing machine. The garments need space for the laundry detergent and water to move through them. Overloading not only stressed the machine, but resulted in our garments not getting as clean and might need a second wash. We may end up with detergent and softener residue on our garments also. A good rule of thumb is to leave 6 inches of space between our wash load and the top of the drum or filling it to about 75-80% of its capacity for optimal cleaning results.

Detergent And Softener Dosage:

Generally, detergent and softener dosage are based on the drum size of the washing machine, thus the wash load. The type of detergent used is important also.

Stevie Wash provides free detergent and softener in each of our washers. They are auto dosed according to the capacity of the washer to provide optimal dosage for best laundry results. Putting in too much detergent may not be completely rinsed off. Stevie Wash provides premium detergent and softener and we provide enzyme detergent for certain outlets.

How To Use The Dryer Efficiently:

Air drying takes a lot more time than most of us can afford in our busy lifestyles and because of this, the dryer is considered a necessity these days as they make our garments dry, FAST!
It is recommended to:
  • Sort similar garments together to ensure a consistent drying time.
  • Make sure the garments are not dripping wet before tossing into the dryer. To avoid a longer dry time, ensure that our garments go through the spin cycle during the wash to remove excess water.
  • Do not overload the dryer as your garments need ample room to tumble in the dryer for quick drying times. Optimal load marking is indicated on Stevie Wash dryers.
  • Once the drying cycle is complete, promptly remove garments from the dryer to prevent wrinkles. Overdrying can damage fabrics and waste energy.
Take a minute to check the care label on the garments and select the best drying cycles.

Stevie Wash dryers’ lint and vent are cleaned and maintained regularly to provide maximum efficiency.
